Broken Garage Cable
My garage door made a loud snapping sound this morning and now it’s hanging completely crooked. It looks like one of the thick metal wires on the side has frayed and snapped off. Is this something I can just zip-tie back together temporarily, or is it dangerous to mess with?

Definitely do not try to zip-tie that or use the opener at all! Those cables are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury if the door falls unexpectedly. It sounds like you specifically need a professional for https://markodoor.com/service/garage-door-cable-repair/ because they have the proper tools to wind the springs safely. I had a similar issue two winters ago, and the technician explained that once one cable goes, the other is usually right behind it. It’s better to get both sides serviced at once so you don't get stuck with a stuck car again next week.
