30 March 2021 – Agrobiotechnology Talk Series (5) Insects and Other Arthropods in Agriculture: Field Survey, Biotechnology, and Genomics

On 30 March 2021, ‘Insects and Other Arthropods in Agriculture: Field Survey, Biotechnology, and Genomics’ was held at the CUHK and online via zoom with a total of 56 participants attended. In this talk, Prof Jerome Hui from the CUHK brought up several studies carried out by our laboratory, including a field survey of insects in local farms, and genetics studies in insects in light to make new biotechnological applications and genomics studies in establishing new models in agriculture, to shed light on these neglected areas.

It is the fifth talk of a series aiming to promote agrobiotechnology and enhance understanding of the potential applications of agricultural products. The target audience includes international scholars, researchers, agricultural industry as well as the general public.
