2 December 2021 – Agrobiotechnology Talk Series (14) Pollution in Agricultural Fields: What Are We Actually Eating?

On 2 December 2021, ‘Pollution in Agricultural Fields: What Are We Actually Eating?’ was held at the CUHK and online via zoom with a total of 50 participants attended. In this talk, our speaker, Prof Martin Tsui from the CUHK has given an overview on contemporary chemical pollution in the modern world, especially a few emerging pollutants in the agricultural field. He also went over factors increasing the exposure of crop to these chemicals and provided an estimation of risk to our health due to the food consumption as well as a few remediation approaches.

It is the fourteen talk of a series aiming to promote agrobiotechnology and enhance understanding of the potential applications of agricultural products. The target audience includes international scholars, researchers, agricultural industry as well as the general public.
