Application Guidelines

Eligibility

  1. The Research Summit welcomes applications from
    • Post-Graduates;
    • Post-Doctoral Fellows;
    • Early-Career Researchers with less than 3 years of research experience.
  2. All participants are required to prepare a poster presentation in the Research Summit.
  3. All applicants must submit completed endorsement form signed by their supervisor/ department head along with their online application.

 

Registration Fee and Other Costs

  1. There will be NO registration fee for the Research Summit.
  2. Participants are responsible for any cost that may incur during the visit, including but not limited to air-fare, accommodation, visa application, meals and insurance.
  3. Participants will be staying in campus hostels during the Research Summit. For reference, the accommodation cost will be HKD$230-250/night/person, and the in-campus dinning cost will be HKD$90-$120/day.
  4. Interested participants with financial hardships may apply for the Research Summit Subsidy Scheme for financial supports. For details, please refer to the Subsidy Scheme Guidelines.

 

Application Procedures

  1. Application will be open from 18 Jan 2017, 12:00 (GMT+08:00) to 10 Mar, 2017, 23:59 (GMT+08:00).
  2. Applicants can submit their application online. (Research Summit Application –> Apply Now)
  3. Applicants are required to fill in all information online, and upload a Personal CV(.pdf), Poster Presentation Abstract(.doc), supporting documents for subsidy schemes(if any), and Completed Endorsement Form(.pdf).
  4. The poster presentation abstract should follow the formatting features of the sample abstract.
  5. Endorsement form to be completed by applicants’ supervisor/department head can be downloaded here.
  6. Applicants will be notified of the application results of Research Summit by 10 March, 2017.

 

Visa Application

  1. Applicants will be responsible to apply for their own visiting visa to Hong Kong if required.
  2. If a training visa is required, applicants should be responsible to prepare all necessary documents to be submitted by the Organizing Committee to the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
  3. The organizing committee will follow up on the visa application progress with applicants to facilitate the process.
